Role overview

MacPhee’s Wine Cellaring Specialists is a premium business known for high-end wine cellaring solutions used in luxury residential and commercial projects across Australia and New Zealand. This role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the company’s next phase of growth by strengthening the supply chain function and building the foundations for a more scalable operation.

The company is seeking a commercially minded Supply Chain Manager who can combine hands-on operational discipline with a broad improvement mindset. The successful candidate will be proactive, structured, accountable and comfortable working through detail while also shaping bigger-picture process improvements.

This position is suited to someone who enjoys solving operational problems, improving systems and creating practical capability across inventory, purchasing, suppliers, logistics and fulfilment. Experience in a growing small to medium business, distribution, premium products, construction products, interiors, appliances, retail, wholesale or a similar environment would be relevant.

About MacPhee’s

With more than 20 years of experience, MacPhee’s specialises in premium wine cellaring solutions and works with private clients, architects, designers, builders, developers and commercial partners across Australia and New Zealand. The business is proud of its workmanship, client relationships and warm, collaborative, values-led culture.

The team values ownership, clear communication, support for others and a positive approach to work. This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, practical and down-to-earth team that is focused on doing things properly and building strong operational foundations for future growth.

Role purpose

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Supply Chain Manager will oversee the full supply chain cycle, from suppliers through to warehouse handling, customer delivery and installation scheduling where required. A major focus of the role is leading the Sales and Operations Planning process across Sales, Operations, Finance, Warehouse and Leadership to align demand, stock, supplier lead times and operational capacity.

The role will help shift the business from reactive purchasing and limited visibility to a more disciplined, data-led and scalable operating model. It will also play a central part in improving stock accuracy, purchasing discipline, supplier performance, fulfilment reliability, reporting and cross-functional decision making.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the full supply chain flow, from supplier coordination through to warehouse operations, deliveries and installation activity where needed.
  • Lead the Sales and Operations Planning process and establish a regular planning cadence across key business functions.
  • Turn forecasts, customer orders, project pipeline data, seasonal demand and supplier lead times into workable purchasing and stock plans.
  • Lift inventory accuracy, availability and confidence in stock records.
  • Track stock levels, backorders, slow-moving items, replenishment needs and supply risks.
  • Create, issue and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers.
  • Handle supplier communication around orders, lead times, production schedules, availability and delivery commitments.
  • Improve supplier performance by monitoring reliability, responsiveness, issue resolution and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate inbound freight with forwarders, shipping agents and logistics partners.
  • Ensure stock is receipted, reconciled and maintained correctly in CIN7.
  • Manage customer order fulfilment, delivery timing and installation bookings where required.
  • Improve on-time, in-full outcomes and reduce delays, errors and rework.
  • Build practical reports, KPIs and dashboards that improve visibility and decision making.
  • Identify process gaps and introduce more consistent, repeatable ways of working.
  • Work closely with Sales, Client Services, Finance, Warehouse, Technical and Leadership teams so the supply chain supports customer commitments and business growth.

About you

You are likely to be a strong fit if you have worked in supply chain, inventory, purchasing, logistics, operations or fulfilment and have experience leading or contributing to sales and operations planning, demand planning, inventory planning or supply planning.

You should bring a solid understanding of purchasing, stock control, supplier coordination and inbound logistics, along with a track record of improving inventory accuracy, stock visibility, process consistency and fulfilment outcomes. Comfort using data such as forecasts, project pipelines, customer orders and historical demand to guide decisions is important.

Experience with ERP or inventory systems is expected, and CIN7 exposure would be highly regarded. Strong administration, reporting and data management capability is also important, as is the ability to create useful KPIs, dashboards or reports. The role also requires strong communication, stakeholder management, attention to detail and a calm, solutions-focused approach.

You will need to balance customer service, stock availability, supplier timing, working capital and operational efficiency while maintaining a practical and organised working style.

What the business values

MacPhee’s is looking for someone dependable, collaborative and ready to take ownership. The ideal person follows through, communicates clearly and takes pride in getting the details right.

They should be confident enough to lead planning discussions, challenge assumptions and drive action, while also being willing to work closely with the day-to-day operational detail. Structure, accountability and consistency are highly valued, as is a positive, respectful and team-oriented mindset.

Application details

  • Applicants should provide a resume and a tailored cover letter that explains their relevant experience and why the opportunity appeals to them.
