About the Company
African Payment Corridors works to improve liquidity across Africa’s payment ecosystem while encouraging innovation and collaborative problem-solving.
About the Role
This position is for a Treasury Manager who will take responsibility for liquidity across the company’s African payment corridors and payment rails.
Responsibilities
- Execute foreign exchange trades with counterparties across African corridors to expand liquidity in a profitable way.
- Keep Hizo liquidity funded at all times, including nights, weekends, holidays, and backup coverage where needed.
- Source, onboard, and oversee counterparties while negotiating pricing, credit limits, and commercial terms.
- Create standard operating procedures and put in place a scalable treasury liquidity management framework.
- Track exposure, project funding requirements, and prepare trading profit and loss reports.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required. ACT, CFA, or CTP certification is considered an advantage.
Required Experience and Skills
The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in treasury, FX trading, or liquidity management, preferably within fintech or payments.
Candidates should have practical experience trading African corridors and working with local payment rails such as bank transfers, mobile money, cards, and stablecoins.
Strong negotiation ability, counterparties management, and the capability to build SOPs and controls from the ground up are essential.
The work environment is fast paced and operates around the clock, so comfort with 24/7 responsibility is important.
Preferred Experience
Prior exposure to fintech or payments environments is an added advantage.
