Role Overview
This is a hybrid full-time leadership role in New York, NY, suited to someone who enjoys guiding administrative teams, improving how work gets done, and working closely with firm leadership to strengthen support for attorneys and business professionals.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Administrative Support department.
- Handle staffing levels, task distribution, scheduling, utilization, and team performance.
- Hire, onboard, coach, mentor, and grow administrative team members.
- Work with Human Resources on employee relations matters and performance management.
- Create training materials, department policies, operating procedures, and best-practice guidelines.
- Take charge of departmental budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking.
- Lead process enhancement efforts and broader strategic initiatives across business services.
- Maintain high standards of client service and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The role calls for extensive experience managing administrative functions in a law firm or professional services setting, along with proven leadership experience supervising support teams. Candidates should be comfortable with budgeting, forecasting, recruitment, coaching, and employee development. Strong communication, organization, analytical thinking, and conflict resolution skills are important, as is advanced use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. A bachelor's degree is required.
