Analyst, Local Equities

About the Role

Join AIA Investment Management as an Analyst, Local Equities, based in Singapore. Reporting to the Head of Local Equities, you will focus mainly on research coverage of Singapore-listed companies. The role uses fundamental analysis to support portfolio managers with equity research across stocks, industries, and sectors, including review of financial statements, assessment of business prospects, and company meetings. You will also contribute to sustainability reporting, ESG analysis, and stewardship engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team with research across stocks, industries, and sectors.
• Review company financials, market movements, and core business drivers.
• Support portfolio managers in presenting investment cases and valuation approaches.
• Develop and update financial models to assess potential investments.
• Track economic data, major news flow, and company earnings announcements.
• Create detailed research write-ups and presentation materials for clients.
• Use data analytics and AI-enabled tools to strengthen stock research.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical and numerical ability, with genuine interest in equity markets.
• Working knowledge of Python and programming concepts.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial modelling.
• Exposure to FactSet and Aladdin is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements and market information accurately.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Self-driven, willing to learn, and able to work both alone and with a team.
• CFA ESG certification is required, but it may be completed after joining AIAIM.
