Role Overview

This Architect role is centered on shaping application architecture across assigned portfolios. The position requires early partnership with delivery squads, translating complex financial needs into practical engineering direction, and keeping enterprise goals, data standards, and domain principles front and center. The role also involves balancing speed, quality, cost, and long-term maintainability while supporting modern cloud, API, and AI-enabled solution patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of application architecture across designated portfolios and work with squads before solution designs become fixed.
• Turn complex financial or business requirements into clear engineering designs that development teams can execute.
• Build and keep current architecture roadmaps, context diagrams, and technology stack definitions.
• Ensure solutions follow enterprise strategy, domain guidelines, and approved data standards.
• Shape decisions around APIs, event-driven systems, and resiliency on AWS and Azure environments.
• Provide direction and oversight so that delivery outputs stay aligned with the enterprise vision.
• Spot technical and delivery risks early and help teams make practical trade-offs among speed, quality, and cost.
• Review application patterns and technical debt to determine what can be simplified or retired.
• Work closely with security and data specialists to produce integrated, cross-functional solutions.
• Participate in product conversations to make sure designs support small business outcomes.
• Lead design discussions and help teams align when there are differing viewpoints.
• Coach engineers on design methods, documentation discipline, and enterprise dependencies.
• Keep documentation updated so teams are not dependent on informal or undocumented knowledge.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience. The role calls for at least 10 years of related professional experience.

Technical Strengths and Preferred Exposure

• Python development using Django or Flask
• .NET ecosystem experience, including C# and .NET Core services
• Angular-based single-page application development
• AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, and gateways
• Azure platform knowledge for SaaS and PaaS alignment
• SQL and NoSQL database design, optimization, and sharding
• REST API design for internal and external integrations
• Security and compliance concepts such as PCI-DSS, encryption, and OAuth
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipeline automation
• Observability and resiliency design patterns
• GraphQL for nested data retrieval
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Event-driven and asynchronous architecture patterns
• Generative AI integration for application capabilities
• Agentic workflow design for autonomous automation
• MCP-based standardized AI-to-data integration
• AI-assisted code generation and prompt-driven development
