KMR Accountants Limited is an expanding and energetic accountancy practice located in Dundalk. The firm works with a varied client base and is looking for a capable Bookkeeper to join its team. Role summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping financial records accurate and up to date for several clients. A major part of the role is ensuring that all ledgers and books are properly reconciled and ready before being passed on for accounts preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations for multiple client accounts.
- Reconcile creditor accounts and investigate or resolve any mismatches.
- Review debtors, manage credit control, and follow up on overdue balances.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across a portfolio of clients.
- Complete all ledger reconciliations before handing files over for accounts preparation.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns with accuracy and completeness.
- Handle sales invoices, purchase invoices, and general bookkeeping tasks.
- Work directly with clients to collect information and keep records current.
Candidate profile
The employer is seeking someone with several years of bookkeeping experience, ideally gained in a practice environment. The right person will be detail-focused, confident with reconciliations, experienced in VAT return preparation, and able to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively. Strong communication, good organisation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are important. Familiarity with accounting software such as BrightBooks, Xero, Sage, or comparable systems is also expected.
