Role overview
This permanent Branch Cashier position is based in Dar es Salaam and reports to the Credit & Collections Manager. The role focuses on managing branch cash, cheques, sales proceeds, and banking activities in a secure, accurate, and timely manner while following company accounting controls and anti-money laundering standards.

Key responsibilities
- Keep sales proceeds, cash, cheques, and deposit slips safe, ensure they are banked promptly, and confirm all deposits are properly supported by bank-endorsed slips.
- Handle counter sales recording and customer service in line with internal sales procedures.
- Review sales invoices, cash receipts, and cheque-related transactions to verify that they are complete and accurate in accordance with anti-money laundering requirements and branch accounting rules.
- Maintain custody of branch sales proceeds and related records, and carry out reconciliations according to the TME lite system and branch accounting manual.
- Draft and send expense reports, cash forecasts, and cash collection and transaction reports on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Reconcile imprest accounts and contingent fund balances on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Process approved payments by handling cash inflows and outflows.
- Support and reinforce adherence to accounting procedures across branch operations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, advanced diploma, or another bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline such as finance or accounting.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools.
- Proven experience handling cash in a similar role.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Honest, dependable, and careful in day-to-day work.
- Strong attention to detail.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Good spoken and written English and Swahili.
