About the company
Bezos.ai provides fulfilment as a service for online merchants. Sellers connect storefronts such as Amazon, eBay, and Shopify, and the platform coordinates the rest by routing orders through a worldwide network of warehouse and carrier partners, tracking each package to the customer, and giving the seller a single view of the supply chain. The team is small, fast-moving, and built around AI-native ways of working, with the business expected to scale strongly in 2026. In this environment, operations is the core engine: when it performs well, customers grow and the platform compounds.
Role overview
The Business Operations Manager will take ownership of a significant portion of operations from start to finish, while also creating the tools, automations, and playbooks that let the network scale without adding people. The role covers the daily operational heartbeat of the platform: ensuring tickets are resolved within SLA, reconciling information across systems, identifying orders that have stalled or gone missing, keeping warehouses and carriers accountable to their service levels, and converting recurring issues into lasting fixes. Those fixes may take the form of Claude skills or agents, Retool dashboards, or Make automations built directly by you.
Core responsibilities
- Maintain a clean operational flow by reconciling the Bezos Platform, WMS, and Operations Dashboard every day, then finding and resolving missing, stuck, or mismatched orders before sellers become aware of them.
- Monitor warehouse and carrier performance against agreed SLAs, follow up on issues, escalate where necessary, and reconcile invoices against rate cards.
- Replace repetitive manual work with AI skills, agents, automations, and dashboards so the business can increase output without increasing headcount.
- Resolve seller-facing operational tickets quickly, identify the root cause, and implement upstream fixes so the same issue does not return.
- Take ownership of a defined part of the warehouse and carrier portfolio, including performance reviews and independent invoice reconciliation.
- Improve company-level operational metrics such as despatch rate, contact rate, or resolution time, and present progress in the weekly metrics review.
- Build or commission systems, tools, playbooks, and process redesigns that solve problems permanently rather than temporarily.
First 90-day outcomes
- Own daily cross-system reconciliation and reduce unresolved order exceptions to near zero.
- Deliver at least one automation, Claude skill, or agent that removes a recurring manual task from the team’s weekly workload.
- Run performance reviews and invoice reconciliation independently for one slice of the warehouse or carrier network.
- Move at least one key company metric in the right direction and explain the impact in the weekly metrics review.
Requirements
- Strong experience using Claude or a comparable AI tool to build working solutions such as skills, agents, or automated workflows that operate with limited human input. This is a strict requirement and candidates must be able to demonstrate what they built, what it does on its own, and where human oversight is kept in place.
- Proven ability to work independently, solve complex problems end to end, and stay ahead of the brief with only light direction.
- Solid numerical and analytical ability, ideally supported by a degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a numerate economics, finance, or social-science track.
- A history of measurable results, such as cost reduction, KPI improvement, or process speed gains, rather than only listing duties performed.
- A strong builder mindset: able to improve broken processes by creating tools, automations, dashboards, playbooks, or process changes that others depend on.
- Comfort working in startup environments with ambiguity, pace, broad ownership, and responsibility for outcomes.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to state next steps and recommendations clearly.
- Preferred background in e-commerce, logistics, 3PL, or supply-chain work.
- Additional advantage from light coding or no-code tooling experience, including Python, SQL, JavaScript, Make, Zapier, Retool, or Airtable.
- Experience managing external partners or vendors against SLAs is helpful.
- Experience mentoring, training, or managing one to two people is also helpful.
Benefits
- Work within a genuinely AI-native team using Claude, Retool, and Make every day, with budget and freedom to automate parts of your own work.
- Play a meaningful role in shaping the position inside a fast-growing company focused on the future of e-commerce.
- Join an entrepreneurial, fast-moving, outcome-driven, and disciplined environment that is also collaborative, team-oriented, and enjoyable.
- Enjoy strong opportunities for growth, learning, and personal development, along with the chance to make a real business impact.
- Work remotely as part of a distributed team, with in-person meetups a few times each month.
- Receive 25 holidays plus 8 bank holidays.
- Access mental health support through Spill and a free Headspace subscription.
Working arrangement
The role is fully remote. The team meets in person a couple of times per month.
Leave and wellbeing
Holiday entitlement includes 25 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays. Mental health support is provided through Spill, and a Headspace subscription is included at no cost.
Additional information
The role is focused on building scalable operations for a fast-growing fulfilment platform. It suits someone who enjoys wide ownership, direct accountability, and using AI and automation to remove manual work wherever possible.
