Role Overview
As a Captain, you will lead service operations in the outlet, support the team on the floor, and help maintain a high standard of hospitality. This role combines hands-on guest service with supervision, coordination, and team development to keep the outlet running efficiently and ensure guests have a consistently positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and assist the service team so day-to-day operations remain efficient and service quality stays consistent.
- Deliver courteous, prompt, and professional table service whenever needed.
- Recommend food and beverage choices to guests and help improve their overall dining experience.
- Work in close coordination with kitchen and outlet colleagues to support timely service and guest satisfaction.
- Keep an eye on outlet cleanliness, table setup, and the overall atmosphere of the venue.
- Respond to guest needs, resolve issues, and manage escalations quickly and effectively.
- Coach, train, and encourage service staff so service standards are consistently maintained.
- Follow all hygiene, safety, and hotel operating procedures without exception.
- Support inventory checks, stock control activities, and daily reporting tasks as required.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting.
- Prior work experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel is an advantage.
- Proven leadership ability with strong people management skills and the capacity to guide and develop a team.
- Excellent spoken and written communication, along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused approach with solid problem-solving capability.
- Working knowledge of food and beverage service operations, standards, and guest handling.
- Experience in preparing staff schedules, conducting training, and managing performance.
- Comfortable using POS systems and familiar with restaurant operating processes.
- Able to stay effective in a busy, high-pressure environment while managing multiple priorities.
