Role overview

Gainsborough Town Council is looking for a dependable, honest person to join its team as a Caretaker. The post supports the day-to-day running of Council buildings and facilities, helping to keep them safe, clean, secure, and prepared for use by community groups and other hirers.

What the job involves

This position covers caretaking, cleaning, maintenance, and general site support across Council premises and public spaces. It is a broad, practical role that contributes to the smooth operation of important local facilities.

• Unlocking buildings for scheduled bookings and making sure they are secured afterward
• Performing regular inspections and basic safety checks
• Completing minor maintenance duties as needed
• Keeping Council buildings and facilities clean to a high standard

Support and training

Where necessary, the Council will provide training and additional support.
