Cloud Consulting Architect

Role overview

Red Hat’s consulting organization is hiring a Senior Cloud Architect in Qatar. This position focuses on advising customers as a technical authority on Red Hat infrastructure and cloud solutions, with an emphasis on automation, resilience, scalability, maintainability, high availability, and failover design. You will help shape and implement on-site solutions that deliver strong performance and flexibility, while also understanding customer environments and recommending approaches that fit their business and technical needs.

This opportunity is suited to professionals who have practical experience in infrastructure and architecture design. Red Hat will provide relocation support to the UAE for the selected candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Build customer trust by running discovery, analysis, and design workshops that influence use cases and architecture choices aligned with Red Hat technologies.
• Plan and size delivery engagements, and guide consulting teams through successful pilot and production rollouts.
• Create and deliver assets that help Red Hat teams sell, consult, and support solutions at scale.
• Collaborate with product units, engineering, consulting, support, and sales teams to create a strong customer experience.
• Help develop reusable methods and tools that improve service scalability, encourage repeatable engagements, and reduce delivery risk.
• Show technical leadership externally by writing white papers, leading webinars, and presenting at major industry events.

Technical background and experience

• Solid experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including command-line use and Linux network setup.
• Practical exposure to containers, container management tools, container troubleshooting, and Quay.
• Working knowledge of package administration through the CLI and Red Hat Satellite.
• Hands-on familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and related deployment requirements.
• Strong architecture understanding across data center infrastructure, including networking, compute, and storage.
• Compute knowledge covering lights-out management, IPMI, Redfish, UEFI/BIOS, and server hardware.
• Networking expertise in SDN, Layer 2, Layer 3, Layer 4 concepts, and Open vSwitch.
• Storage knowledge including Ceph, SAN, and NAS.
• Experience using Ansible, including playbooks and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization systems such as Red Hat IDM and Active Directory.
• Experience preparing network and data center designs, architecture documentation, and discovery/scoping sessions.
