About Orbital
Orbital is an AI-led industrial company developing hardware from the ground up. Its mission is to help drive an industrial renaissance by advancing essential technologies and protecting the planet for future generations.
The company is initially focused on critical hardware for AI data centres, aiming to improve performance while reducing environmental impact. Each Orbital product is created through its AI platform, which combines AI-assisted hardware engineering with AI-designed materials science to deliver major gains in real-world performance.
Orbital is growing across a wide range of functions, including AI research, operations, advanced materials, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and manufacturing. The team works in closely connected, vertically integrated groups, and the company looks for people who are curious about AI, enjoy physical technology, and are eager to learn.
Role Overview
Orbital is hiring a Content Manager who can transform complex ideas into persuasive, commercially effective content and campaigns. In this role, you will shape the company’s content direction from the beginning, set the editorial approach, create high-impact material across multiple formats, and ensure the output supports pipeline generation and growth.
You will partner closely with GTM, Sales, Product, and Science teams to develop content for technical audiences, and you will use performance data to continuously improve results.
Materials science expertise is not mandatory. What matters most is strong curiosity, the ability to quickly understand complicated topics, and the motivation to help build work that has meaningful impact.
Content Strategy and Commercial Impact
- Lead Orbital’s content strategy with a direct connection to business goals such as pipeline creation, lead conversion, and faster revenue growth, while balancing long-term brand development with near-term GTM priorities.
- Work as a strategic partner to Sales by identifying missing pieces in the buyer journey and creating content that helps prospects move from awareness through to decision-making.
- Rely on data and performance insights to evaluate content effectiveness, make quick improvements, and guide future investment decisions.
Editorial Ownership and Delivery
- Set and maintain Orbital’s editorial voice, tone, and standards, and build the workflows for briefing, drafting, review, and publishing.
- Support subject matter experts in contributing to content while preserving quality and consistency.
- Create thought leadership content that connects Orbital’s materials innovation with major topics such as data centre challenges, energy efficiency, cooling, and sustainability.
- Produce high-value content in several formats, including presentations, product specifications, technical articles, and scientific explainers, using AI tools to improve speed and efficiency without reducing accuracy or depth.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Science, and Leadership to generate ideas and ensure each piece is accurate, relevant, and aligned with business priorities.
- Stay informed on developments in AI and data centre infrastructure so the content remains current, credible, and useful.
Community and Distribution
- Grow Orbital’s presence in important communities across data centres, infrastructure, AI research, chemistry, and engineering.
- Create content that strengthens the company’s positioning among technically sophisticated decision-makers around the world.
- Experiment with new ways to distribute, activate, and expand the reach of content.
What You Bring
- A demonstrated ability to independently create and execute a content strategy that supports a go-to-market function and contributes to revenue.
- Experience working closely with Sales and GTM teams to uncover gaps in the buyer journey and fill them with strong content assets.
- Excellent writing and editing ability, including strong long-form examples, along with comfort using LLMs and related tools to work efficiently at scale.
- Exposure to, or strong interest in, deep tech, compute, energy, cooling, or industrial technology.
- Sound editorial judgment, sharp attention to detail, and strong intellectual curiosity.
- A builder mindset and a real desire to establish a core content function from the ground up.
- A data-led approach to improving content, using analytics and performance metrics to inform decisions and report impact clearly.
- Experience in a startup or early-stage environment is an advantage, especially if you thrive in fast-moving settings where priorities can change quickly.
Why Join Orbital
- Competitive compensation with equity, giving you the chance to own part of Orbital as it grows.
- Flexible and generous paid time off.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Regular company offsites in the USA and other locations.
- The opportunity to work at a forward-looking organisation focused on building a better future.
