Role Overview
An established international contractor is looking for an experienced CSA Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial team in Kildare. The role focuses on large-scale mission-critical infrastructure work, particularly data centre developments across Ireland. You will be involved from early-stage planning through to final account, helping ensure strong commercial outcomes, contractual compliance, and effective cost control. The position follows a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the commercial and contractual management of CSA packages on major data centre projects.
- Handle subcontractor procurement activity, including tender review, negotiation, and appointment processes.
- Track project expenditure, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow across the full project lifecycle.
- Assess subcontractor applications, variations, claims, and final account submissions.
- Produce monthly cost reports, valuations, and commercial progress updates for senior leadership.
- Spot commercial risks and opportunities early and put mitigation measures in place where needed.
- Support the preparation, negotiation, and agreement of change orders and contract variations with clients and subcontractors.
- Make sure all work aligns with contractual requirements and internal commercial procedures.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, planners, and procurement teams to help protect and improve project profitability.
- Assist with contractual discussions and dispute resolution when required.
- Contribute ideas and support initiatives that improve the commercial function over time.
Candidate Profile
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying position within construction, engineering, or specialist contracting.
- Demonstrable experience managing CSA packages on large projects.
- Experience in data centres, pharmaceuticals, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement approaches, and commercial management practices.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to prepare reliable cost forecasts, valuations, and commercial reports.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and commercial management systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Able to work independently while contributing well in a team-based project environment.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
