Custodian - Full Time

Job Summary

MJM Services is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and positive full-time custodian to join their team in Blind River, Ontario. This role is crucial for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in schools for students, staff, and visitors. The position offers a supportive team atmosphere and specific work hours that vary between the school year and summer months.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste disposal.
• Sanitize washrooms, changerooms, classrooms, and offices.
• Contribute to building security by locking doors and conducting safety checks.
• Collaborate effectively with a friendly and experienced team.
• Replenish essential supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, and soap, and manage cleaning equipment.
• Maintain floor surfaces through processes like stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Must demonstrate reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to work autonomously.
• Capability to lift, transport, and maneuver equipment and supplies as necessary.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness are essential.
• While prior cleaning experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided by the employer.

Additional Requirements

• Applicants must be able to successfully obtain and pass an O.P.P. vulnerable sector check.

Work Schedule

The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM during the school year. During the summer school closure period, the hours shift to 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
