Role overview
The Custodian is accountable for keeping company facilities clean, sanitary, and aligned with established company standards.
Core duties
- Clean terminals and work areas using hand brooms, power scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuum cleaners to meet company expectations.
- Empty and clean waste containers in offices, restrooms, break rooms, and the building each day.
- Keep restrooms supplied with the items needed for daily use.
- Move, reposition, and adjust office furniture when required.
- Make sure pest control systems are functioning properly and that housekeeping and sanitation standards are maintained at a high level.
- Remove snow and ice from pedestrian paths and parking areas.
- Keep company grounds clear of litter and debris.
- Prepare required reports related to labor and equipment.
- Maintain records showing repair history by equipment type.
- Compile complete and accurate logs, records, and reports as needed.
- Escalate any safety concerns to the shift supervisor.
- Follow OSHA and MSDS requirements.
- Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills.
- Prior custodial or similar experience is required.
