Aon Affinity is hiring a Data Analyst to help shape its data and analytics capability. This is an in-office position located in Bloomington, Minnesota. The role is centered on converting complex information into practical insights that support business decisions and solve real operational problems.

What You’ll Do

• Work with business, marketing, IT, and other stakeholders to understand needs, define analytics strategies, and create valuable data-driven solutions.
• Conduct business analysis to clarify requirements, prioritize work, and convert business questions into reporting and analytics outputs.
• Develop Python-based algorithms and data pipelines, and create dashboards that make insights easy for decision makers to use.
• Use tools such as Databricks and Power BI to build and deliver analytics solutions across both legacy and modern systems.
• Lead small project teams and support other analysts by reviewing and contributing to their work.
• Act as a subject-matter resource for the analytics team in areas such as Python, machine learning, Databricks, or solution pattern development.
• Educate business teams on newer analytics approaches and help them apply those methods to real business challenges.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Python and SQL ability is required, including experience maintaining and updating Python-based ETL pipelines.
• At least 5 years of experience is preferred.
• Ability to write SQL queries live during stakeholder discussions and work with Databricks and Power BI to produce data outputs.
• Experience using machine learning and other advanced analytics techniques, with the ability to communicate results clearly and persuasively.
• Solid business analysis skills, including the ability to work independently with business units to identify opportunities and design solutions.
• Experience handling small-project timelines and tasks, and acting as a product owner in agile, distributed, matrixed environments.
• Preferred background includes insurance, especially small business P&C brokerage.
• Experience with GraphQL and D&B Hoovers or similar small-business data sources is an advantage.
• Advanced capability in areas such as Databricks, Python, generative AI, DevOps for analytics, business analysis, P&C analytics, or third-party data sources such as D&B is desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for U.S. applicants is $93,500 to $120,000 per year. Final pay depends on education, experience, skills, abilities, internal equity, market data, and geographic location.

This role is eligible for participation in an annual incentive plan and may receive a discretionary bonus, subject to the terms of the applicable plan.
