Data Analyst Excel

Role overview

This remote contract role is focused on supporting AI model training with high-quality real-world data work. You will use strong Excel-based analysis skills to help improve how next-generation AI systems learn, reason, and perform. Prior experience in AI is not required; what matters most is your subject-matter expertise and ability to work accurately with data.

What you'll do

• Use Microsoft Excel to perform detailed data analysis and turn raw information into practical insights for decision-making.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify data needs and convert them into useful analytical outputs.
• Clean, review, and verify datasets so they remain accurate, consistent, and reliable.
• Build concise reports and visual summaries that can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Spot patterns, irregularities, and opportunities within complex datasets to support strategic work.
• Keep thorough documentation of methods, findings, and recommendations.
• Contribute analytical expertise to strengthen the customer team's data-led decision-making.

Skills and qualifications

• Hands-on experience carrying out business data analysis primarily in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong precision and care when handling data, reporting, and validation tasks.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain analytical results clearly.
• Comfort working collaboratively across teams to support business goals.
• Sound knowledge of Excel formulas, functions, and charting/visualisation features.
• Ability to detect data issues and apply corrective steps effectively.
• Experience in fast-moving, data-focused work environments.

Preferred background

• Exposure to using data insights to support cross-functional teams and business strategy.
• Experience presenting findings to a variety of audiences.
• Familiarity with additional analytics tools or business intelligence platforms.
