Electrical Estimator

Role overview

An expanding electrical building services contractor is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its pre-construction team in Hinckley. The role covers commercial and industrial projects and focuses on preparing precise, competitive estimates while working with internal teams to help projects move smoothly from tender to handover.

The successful applicant will become part of a collaborative estimating function and will take ownership of tender opportunities from the first enquiry through to project completion handover.

Working pattern and contract

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Hinckley, England, United Kingdom. The working week is 41.5 hours, Monday to Friday.

Compensation and benefits

Salary is £50,000 to £55,000 per year, plus a performance-related bonus. Additional benefits include on-site parking, a supportive team environment, and either a company car or a car allowance.

Key duties

The estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical costings, reviewing tender packs, and coordinating quotations with suppliers and subcontractors. The role also includes attending site visits, checking material and equipment suitability against project and budget requirements, and supporting handover to design, procurement, and delivery teams when work is secured.

Requirements

The business is seeking someone with prior experience in an electrical estimating role or a closely related position, along with a strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical installations. The candidate should be able to read technical drawings and specifications, manage deadlines effectively, communicate and negotiate confidently, and use estimating tools together with Microsoft Office software.

Qualifications

Electrical industry qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or an equivalent credential are preferred. Previous estimating experience is highly desirable, and a solid electrical technical background is essential.
