직무 설명

Role overview

DXC Technology’s Insurance Software and BPS business supports insurers globally with core platform modernisation and large-scale operational services, using deep domain expertise, established software platforms, and AI-led solutions. The team works across policy administration, claims, billing, analytics, and digital engagement for Life & Annuity, Property & Casualty, and Specialty insurance markets.

As an Eligibility Case Manager, you will handle the early-stage assessment and processing of workers’ compensation claims in a Queensland self-insured setting. Your focus will be on deciding eligibility quickly and accurately, accepting or declining claims in line with state legislation and regulatory obligations. For claims that are accepted, you will also review the first calculation of Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) and related weekly compensation before the matter is handed over to a dedicated Case Manager for ongoing management.

Claims assessment and decision-making

  • Evaluate incoming workers’ compensation claims against the relevant state laws, regulations, and self-insurer procedures.
  • Investigate claims where responsibility is uncertain by collecting evidence, reviewing medical material, speaking with stakeholders, and arranging independent assessments when needed.
  • Check and sign off on the initial PIAWE specialist calculation of Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings and weekly compensation entitlements.
  • Ensure accepted matters are transferred smoothly to the next Case Manager with complete background and supporting information.
  • Work with payroll teams to confirm earnings information and help ensure compensation payments are accurate.

Customer service and communication

  • Respond promptly to questions about eligibility and claim progress during the early phase of the claim journey.
  • Explain decisions to injured workers, employers, and other stakeholders in a respectful, clear, and compassionate way.
  • Deliver service that builds confidence, clarity, and transparency.

Compliance, records, and risk

  • Follow all applicable workers’ compensation laws, self-insurance obligations, and internal policies without exception.
  • Keep claim records, notes, and documentation accurate and current in Assure so decisions are properly supported and compliant.
  • Recognise claim-related risks and work with others to reduce or manage them.

Team contribution

  • Help maintain a constructive team culture built on openness, shared learning, and accountability.
  • Share expertise to support consistency in claim decisions and team capability.
  • Partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery.

Skills and experience required

Success in this position will come from a mix of formal training, claim-handling experience, and strong interpersonal and analytical ability.

  • A qualification or certification in a health-related or business-related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in workers’ compensation case management, ideally within a self-insured environment.
  • Experience assessing eligibility and liability in line with legislation and internal policy.
  • Ability to review and approve PIAWE and weekly compensation calculations.
  • Experience investigating claims by gathering and interpreting evidence to support liability decisions.
  • Confidence working in a multidisciplinary environment with case managers, payroll, and legal advisers.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw clear conclusions from complex information.
  • Careful attention to detail in both documentation and decision-making.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly and empathetically.
  • Good influencing and relationship-building skills across different levels of the business.
  • Strong planning and time-management ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Culture and benefits

DXC says it is focused on building better futures for customers, employees, communities, and the environment. The organisation promotes inclusion, belonging, and corporate citizenship, and supports social impact initiatives through its Social Impact Practice.

Its people-first approach includes competitive pay, benefits, training, and career development opportunities.

Reasonable accommodation may be considered for qualified candidates in line with company policy, including support for people with physical or mental disabilities.

The company notes that its work approach emphasises in-person collaboration while still allowing flexibility to support wellbeing, productivity, different working styles, and life circumstances.
