Ovolo Sydney is looking for an Executive Assistant Manager to join the team at an important time of change. With a full property refurbishment and relaunch underway, this role calls for a guest-focused hospitality leader who understands that success is built through strong results and memorable guest connections.
In this position, you will work closely with the Area General Manager to keep operations running smoothly while ensuring each guest feels recognised, cared for, and genuinely impressed. The role is about more than day-to-day management; it is about shaping experiences that encourage repeat visits and long-term loyalty.
Guest experience leadership
You will help create a service culture where every team member understands how their actions contribute to outstanding guest moments. A key part of the role is setting standards that identify guest needs early and go beyond expectations. You will be visible on the floor, approachable to both guests and staff, and committed to making each stay feel personal and memorable.
Commercial focus
The role also requires a balanced commercial mindset. You will support revenue growth across rooms and food & beverage without letting service quality slip. By reviewing guest feedback and market patterns, you will identify opportunities that add real value. You will also help shape pricing approaches and work with sales and marketing teams to build offers and experiences that appeal to guests.
Operational oversight
You will oversee rooms, maintenance, and food & beverage operations to ensure a smooth guest journey at every stage. During the refurbishment, you will help manage the project with care so guest disruption is kept to a minimum. You will also strengthen systems and processes that allow the team to deliver reliable, high-quality service while continuously improving standards.
Team leadership and development
This role is also about building a motivated hospitality team. You will help create a workplace where people feel appreciated, trusted, and inspired to perform at their best. Experience and background
We are seeking someone with at least 5 years of senior hotel operations experience, ideally across both rooms and food & beverage. This position may suit someone ready to move toward a General Manager pathway. Experience in luxury hospitality would be an advantage, particularly if you understand the expectations of an upper-upscale environment and can support a repositioning effort. A strong record of improving revenue while keeping guest satisfaction high is important, as is experience with renovations or openings that were managed with limited guest impact. You should also have a proven ability to build strong, service-driven teams.
