Role overview
This contract role is for a Financial Data Privacy Analyst who will work remotely and help protect sensitive financial and personal information across documents and digital systems. The position focuses on identifying privacy risks, ensuring compliance with major data protection regulations, and strengthening redaction and handling practices in finance-related workflows.
Compensation and commitment
The pay range is $35 to $70 per hour. The assignment is remote and requires a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours.
Key responsibilities
- Spot, evaluate, and mitigate privacy risks involving personally identifiable information in financial documents and systems.
- Use in-depth knowledge of worldwide privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA, to keep data handling fully compliant.
- Examine and obscure sensitive material in items such as confidential information memorandums, financial statements, and contracts by using established privacy and redaction tools.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to build, document, and improve privacy procedures for sensitive operational workflows.
- Look beyond obvious identifiers and identify indirect sources of personal data, including details embedded in proprietary methods or distinctive reconciliation processes.
- Recommend practical improvements to privacy controls in customer finance and corporate environments.
Requirements
- At least some hands-on background in PII compliance within finance or corporate settings is required.
- Strong working knowledge of data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA, especially as they apply to financial information.
- Experience using tools and methods for handling and redacting sensitive documents.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to turn complex privacy needs into clear actions for teams.
- Prior experience managing confidential workflows and protocols in financial systems is expected.
