About the role
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer on Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS), you will help design the travel commerce systems that support the company’s expansion across APAC. The work centers on building localized, high-quality travel portals for major financial institutions and consumer brands, with direct influence on how large numbers of users in the region book and experience travel.
You will be part of a fast-moving engineering group adapting Hopper’s fintech and e-commerce platforms to the regulatory requirements, payment standards, and customer expectations of one of the world’s fastest-growing travel markets.
What you’ll do
- Build and run end-to-end full-stack products and APIs that support large-scale B2B commerce partnerships throughout APAC.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to tailor portal capabilities for regional payment flows and distribution requirements.
- Use LLMs and AI-assisted development tools to help produce production-ready code and speed up delivery for partner-specific needs.
- Create and support gRPC and REST microservices that handle live travel inventory and fintech add-ons.
- Work independently through complex engineering issues while staying aligned with global teams through asynchronous collaboration.
- Continuously improve systems to boost the scalability and performance of Hopper’s B2B travel ecosystem.
What we’re looking for
- Deep experience with React and TypeScript for building fast, localized web experiences in complex commerce products.
- Strong Scala skills, with exposure to distributed systems or a willingness to apply functional programming to large backend platforms.
- A business-oriented approach that values regional product-market fit and understands APAC user behavior.
- Comfort using AI-driven development workflows, including LLMs and agentic systems to improve partner support.
- Practical experience with GCP and cloud-native engineering, especially around latency and data residency needs for international partnerships.
- The ability to quickly understand unfamiliar codebases and deliver meaningful features under demanding commercial timelines.
