About the organization

Role overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for keeping guest and resident accommodation, as well as shared spaces, clean and well-presented to YWCA Banff standards. This role helps create a welcoming impression for residents, guests, and visitors, and requires a courteous, solution-oriented approach when handling concerns or special requests.

Key duties

  • Clean residences, shared areas, meeting rooms, program rooms, and communal washrooms to departmental standards.
  • Handle laundry tasks as needed.
  • Change beds, sweep and mop floors, dust surfaces, and sanitize washrooms.
  • Carry out scheduled rotation cleaning, including deeper cleaning tasks.
  • Help maintain a safe workplace in line with the YWCA Health and Safety program.

  • Refill housekeeping carts at the end of each shift, including making sure spray bottles are correctly labelled.

  • Report room-status inconsistencies to the Housekeeping Lead or Facilities Manager.
