Role overview
An established client is looking for a seasoned Human Resources Director to own the organization’s people strategy and act as a reliable partner to senior leadership. The role combines strategic planning with direct involvement in everyday HR operations, covering the full employee lifecycle and core people programs.
What you will do
- Steer the full HR function so it supports company priorities and long-term business goals.
- Work closely with executive leaders on workforce planning, succession planning, and broader organizational development efforts.
- Create and refine HR policies, procedures, and standards that strengthen engagement, accountability, and operational performance.
- Run end-to-end hiring, onboarding, retention, and exit processes.
- Advise managers on employee relations, coaching, performance issues, conflict resolution, and other employment-related matters.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations while reducing HR-related risk.
- Direct compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs to help attract and keep strong talent.
- Manage performance reviews, employee growth initiatives, and leadership development training.
- Oversee HRIS operations, employee data, reporting, and analytics used for business decision-making.
- Handle departmental budgeting and look for ways to improve efficiency and control costs.
- Build an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture centered on engagement, diversity, and continuous improvement.
- Guide, coach, and grow the HR team.
Candidate profile
The preferred candidate brings broad HR leadership experience and is comfortable balancing strategic direction with operational detail. Success in this role requires strong judgment, business partnership skills, and the ability to influence leaders while maintaining compliance and supporting a positive employee experience.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field.
- Substantial experience in HR leadership with responsibility across multiple HR functions.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing HR professionals.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices, with the ability to reduce organizational risk proactively.
- Experience acting as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.
- Hands-on experience managing compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs with attention to compliance and market competitiveness.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the use of data to shape HR strategy.
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or an equivalent credential is preferred.
