About the Role

This position is part of a team focused on creating a more human, personalized future for complex chronic care. The Intake Specialist will work closely with patients, vendors, providers, and internal teams each day, serving as a knowledgeable point of contact for questions about authorization progress and patient billing. The role calls for accuracy, strong issue-solving ability, and a detail-oriented approach to intake work.

Key Responsibilities

• Review benefits and complete prior authorization workflows, making sure incoming referrals are handled quickly and correctly.
• Work with referral sources to gather the documentation needed to secure authorizations, using AI-enabled tools and support where available.
• Monitor intake-related service issues, prepare reports, and escalate problems that could disrupt the intake process.
• Help ensure referrals are complete before treatment begins so therapy is not delayed.
• Support patient payment activities, including arranging payment plans, collecting outstanding balances, and responding to billing questions.

Required Experience and Skills

The role prefers candidates with strong intake and authorization experience, particularly in infusion care. A background in intake, medical billing, or collections is required, along with solid knowledge of payer processes and health insurance authorizations. Success in this position also depends on careful attention to detail, clear communication, emotional intelligence, and the ability to interact appropriately with referral sources, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
