Role Overview

This position is responsible for keeping Grove’s products available at the right time, in the right place, and in the right quantity. The team is seeking an Inventory Planner who is excited to work with AI-enabled planning tools and can apply strong analytical judgment to inventory decisions. The role calls for someone who does not rely on automation as a backup, but instead uses it proactively, tests new technologies, and knows when to accept model outputs and when to challenge them.

You will manage replenishment planning for a large-SKU direct-to-consumer assortment across two fulfillment centers in a fast-moving eCommerce setting. Candidates with experience handling high SKU volumes, multiple vendors, and strong velocity using modern planning systems and AI tools at scale are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use sales forecasts to guide replenishment decisions that support sales goals, inventory turns, and product availability across a broad assortment, while applying AI-based forecasting tools and sound manual judgment when needed.
  • Maintain supplier settings and replenishment parameters in planning and ERP systems for your assigned vendor portfolio, and investigate forecast variances to improve accuracy and reduce bias through data-based adjustments.
  • Track inventory performance metrics and take corrective action where needed. Build and maintain reporting in Looker, Excel, and AI-driven analytics tools that not only explain results but also point to next steps.
  • Work closely with Merchandising and Marketing to reduce aged inventory, coordinate with suppliers to ensure replenishment order execution and forecast commitment follow-through, and partner with Billing and Accounting on invoice and receipt mismatches.
  • Monitor purchase orders from submission through EDI confirmation and receipt at fulfillment centers, and recommend inventory transfers between warehouse locations based on demand trends and fulfillment data.
  • Continuously improve planning systems, data quality, and workflows by identifying and testing AI and automation opportunities such as anomaly detection, automated reorder triggers, and scenario modeling, then sharing successful practices with the team.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in inventory planning and procurement within a DTC or digitally native eCommerce business, with a proven record of managing a high-SKU, fast-moving assortment.
  • Practical experience with forecasting platforms such as Relex, Toolio, Anaplan, or similar tools, along with a strong interest in evaluating and adopting newer planning technologies.
  • Real-world use of AI in inventory planning workflows, including demand sensing, automated replenishment, anomaly detection, or scenario modeling, and a willingness to keep expanding that capability as tools evolve.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required; experience with Looker or another BI platform is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success against core inventory KPIs such as in-stock rate, turns, weeks of supply, forecast accuracy, and reduction of aged inventory.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to turn planning data into practical recommendations for Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Operations partners.
  • A proactive, self-directed work style with a habit of finding the best tools available and treating continuous improvement as part of the role, not an add-on.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $90,000. Compensation is adjusted using market-specific cost-of-living data, and the highest part of the range is intended for the most experienced candidates in higher-cost regions.
