Janitor - Full Time

Role Summary

This position is responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of assigned spaces within one building or across multiple client locations. Because daily tasks can vary based on client needs, the person in this role must be adaptable and willing to carry out different cleaning duties as assigned.

The pay rate for this position is $15.45 per hour.

Key Duties

• Remove trash and waste paper from the site, clean waste bins, and take garbage to the designated disposal area.
• Clear and clean ashtrays, check sand urns, and replenish sand when needed.
• Dust picture frames, charts, graphs, and wall decor.
• Remove dust from ceiling fixtures, air-conditioning diffusers, partition grilles, registers, and other ventilation openings.
• Vacuum rugs and carpeted sections in offices, lobbies, and hallways.
• Dust office furniture, file cabinets, fixtures, paneling, windowsills, and other flat surfaces.
• Wipe and polish metal fixtures and other brightwork.
• Clean tile floors as needed, including proper policing and care of the surface.
• Wipe down and polish glass furnishings.
• Clean interior and exterior entry door glass.
• Remove marks and smudges from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, light-switch areas, private glass entries, and dividers.
• Wash, clean, and sanitize drinking water coolers.
• Sweep stairways and vacuum them when they are carpeted.
• Sweep, mop, and otherwise clean building floors.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and replenish restroom supplies.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and carry out both spoken and written instructions.
• At least 6 months of experience in a janitorial or similar cleaning role.
