Position Overview
This role is for a junior-level Scrum Master supporting agile delivery within a cybersecurity team. You will help with sprint coordination, backlog upkeep, and day-to-day team alignment while building practical Scrum Master skills in an environment focused on collaboration and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Scrum Master in running agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work alongside the Product Owner to keep the product backlog organized and current, including user stories, defects, and other work items.
- Help the team estimate effort and shape sprint commitments that meet quality standards and acceptance criteria.
- Spot blockers early and raise impediments with the Senior Scrum Master and other stakeholders so delivery stays on track.
- Encourage the use of agile practices, methods, and tools as the organization continues to mature in its agile journey.
- Track and review delivery measures such as sprint velocity, quality signals, and team cadence to highlight improvement opportunities.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and self-management across the delivery group while maintaining strong working relationships with business and technical partners.
- Grow knowledge of agile delivery practices while expanding familiarity with cybersecurity topics, especially IAM and GRC.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile delivery position.
- Good understanding of Scrum, agile principles, and common agile ceremonies.
- Exposure to cybersecurity concepts, with IAM or GRC experience viewed as an advantage.
- Comfort working under the supervision and coaching of a Senior Scrum Master.
- Prior exposure to agile project management and backlog management tools is preferred.
