A key part of the position is helping customers understand changing product formats and ongoing product innovation.

Core duties

• Show kindness, authenticity, and respect while helping maintain a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
• Deliver strong customer service by suggesting product baskets based on customer needs and preferences.
• Work closely with the team to uphold company culture and keep the store safe for customers and staff.
• Operate the POS system for sales, voids, discounts, and promotions using Lightspeed POS.
• Handle opening and closing responsibilities for the store.
• Respond quickly and professionally to unexpected issues and changing situations.
• Keep learning about cannabis products, strains, product categories, and accessories.
• Track inventory accurately and maintain reporting standards.
• Follow all laws, regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.
• Work independently when needed and stay productive without constant supervision.
• Manage merchandising and restocking to keep shelves properly filled.
• Use the company’s in-house cannabis and sales education resources.

Non-negotiable expectations

• Possess SellSafe certification in Alberta or CannSell certification in Ontario, depending on location.
• Check customer identification and verify eligibility before completing a sale.
• Understand cannabis rules and take qualification standards seriously.
• Communicate reliably and clearly with the team.
• Bring energy, friendliness, and pride in being part of the recreational cannabis market and its evolving culture.

Additional requirements

• Must be of legal working age and hold the required provincial license; this is mandatory.
• Retail and customer service background is required.
• Experience using point of sale systems is preferred.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle several tasks at once are needed.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role is expected.
• Availability to work across multiple locations can lead to more hours and development opportunities.
• Schedule must be flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods is required.
• Must be physically capable of pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 25 lbs.

Eligibility

This role is open to candidates who are of legal age, hold the required provincial licence, and can work a flexible retail schedule. Applicants should already have or be willing to obtain the necessary cannabis qualification.
