Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician position in the Riyadh Region. The role focuses on handling patient specimens safely and accurately, following established laboratory procedures and safety requirements. You will be responsible for preparing and processing samples, running routine and specialized tests, documenting outcomes, and keeping laboratory records up to date in the lab information system. The job also includes supporting quality checks, spotting and reporting abnormalities or equipment concerns, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and compliant workspace. In this position, you will work closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver dependable laboratory results that assist with diagnosis and treatment.
Key Duties
- Receive patient samples, label them correctly, and process them according to approved laboratory protocols.
- Carry out routine as well as specialized laboratory tests with accuracy and care.
- Operate laboratory instruments, perform calibration, conduct routine upkeep, and handle basic troubleshooting when needed.
- Record, review, and analyze test results, ensuring information is entered correctly into laboratory systems.
- Support quality control activities and help maintain reliable testing standards.
- Identify abnormalities, equipment malfunctions, or procedural issues and report them promptly.
- Keep the lab area clean, organized, and aligned with safety and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors, clinicians, and other healthcare team members to provide timely lab data.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hands-on knowledge of specimen collection, preparation, and handling in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Practical experience with laboratory equipment, including setup, operation, calibration, maintenance, and basic repair.
- Strong ability to analyze results, detect inconsistencies, and contribute to accurate clinical decisions.
- Understanding of quality control processes and laboratory standards that support reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Prior experience in a Laboratory Technician position or equivalent training in a medical laboratory environment.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory, or a closely related field, with certification or licensure where applicable.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, biosafety practices, and safe handling of biological samples and chemicals.
- Careful attention to detail, strong organization, and the discipline to follow standard operating procedures consistently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills for working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Availability to work on-site in the Riyadh Region and flexibility to handle shifts or extended hours as needed by laboratory operations.
