Primary responsibilities

• Load laundry items into washers and dryers
• Add the correct amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning products as required
• Run washer and dryer controls properly
• Remove lint from dryer filters twice each day
• Move linens from the washer to the dryer as soon as the first wash cycle ends, start another load in the washer, and continue the same routine when the first drying cycle finishes
• Confirm that storage rooms and laundry rooms are secured before ending the shift
• Collect laundry from chutes and carts, sorting linens to identify stained or damaged pieces
• Track the number of discarded items
• Fold and organize towels, sheets, and other linens
• Keep the storeroom and laundry area clean
• Handle damaged linen processing
• Ensure each floor has sufficient linen stock and replenish supplies as needed
• Carry out other assigned duties

Education and experience

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred. Experience operating washer and dryer equipment is required. The role also calls for the ability to work independently and experience in customer service.
