About the Company

Aliaxis is a global business focused on solutions for water-related challenges and supporting the shift toward cleaner energy. The group is recognized internationally for its piping and fitting systems used in construction, infrastructure, industrial, and agricultural settings. With more than 16,000 employees across 40+ countries and 80 manufacturing locations, it operates as a major worldwide manufacturer.

In New Zealand and the Pacific region, the business provides plastic pipes, fittings, and building materials through well-known local brands including Marley, RX Plastics, and Dynex. The company is also committed to reducing its environmental footprint and delivering products and services that create a positive impact for customers and the wider community.

The organization values three core behaviors: challenging the status quo and learning quickly, caring for the environment and people, and delivering on commitments with accountability.

About the Role

This full-time maintenance electrician position is based at the Marley site in Manurewa and supports the smooth operation of a manufacturing environment. The role is hands-on and runs on rotating shifts, alternating between 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

The right person will enjoy practical electrical work, diagnosing issues, solving breakdowns, and contributing to ongoing improvements. The role suits someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to help maintain a safe, reliable, and efficient production site.

Key Duties

  • Carry out planned and predictive electrical maintenance across site machinery, including extruders, moulders, crushers, and related support systems.
  • Respond quickly and safely to electrical faults and failures, using troubleshooting skills to restore equipment and reduce downtime.
  • Partner with the Electrical Team Leader and share maintenance updates with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Work alongside the mechanical team to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Investigate equipment breakdowns and apply corrective actions to reduce repeat failures.
  • Suggest and implement improvements that strengthen reliability, efficiency, and site safety.
  • Make sure plant and site equipment are ready for production start-up.
  • Spot health and safety hazards early and work with others to keep the workplace safe.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have at least five years’ experience in heavy industrial machinery, manufacturing, or processing settings. A trade qualification in electrical work, EWRB registration, and a current practising licence are required.

The role also calls for experience with LOTO, JSEA/SWMS/Take 5, and PTW systems, along with strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability. You should be physically fit, comfortable working to daily deadlines, and able to communicate clearly with production operators, mechanical fitters, and other electricians.

A strong commitment to health and safety, a willingness to share knowledge, and a flexible, proactive, reliable, and punctual approach are all important.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive hourly pay.
  • Uniforms, shift allowance, and tool allowance are provided.
  • Overtime may be available for those wanting additional hours.
  • Strong focus on safety, including a “Go for Zero” workplace approach.
  • Training to support learning, development, and growth.
  • The chance to work for an organization with a strong sustainability focus.
  • Industry-leading paid parental leave: 26 weeks for primary carers and 4 weeks for secondary carers.
  • Employee Assistance Program for employees and their families.
  • Recognition initiatives and service awards.
  • Mentoring opportunities to support career growth.
  • Access to a global DEI council.
