CAD design and ownership
- Take responsibility for CAD design work and the related data for assigned components and assemblies, with support when needed.
- Build detailed 3D CAD models for parts and assemblies, with NX as the preferred tool.
- Prepare accurate 2D production drawings that follow ASME standards and any relevant regulatory requirements.
- Keep CAD and engineering assets updated within the PLM environment, such as Teamcenter or a comparable system.
- Help develop CAD-based solutions to address technical issues across several projects.
Engineering and analysis
- Use a strong understanding of GD&T, materials, surface finishes, and manufacturing methods.
- Show awareness of stress analysis principles and how they influence design choices.
- Assist with simulation or analysis work when needed, including mechanical, stress, thermal, or fluid analysis.
- Ensure designs are aligned with aerospace regulatory expectations where relevant.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Take part in design reviews and contribute to technical conversations.
- Work with internal stakeholders, external partners, and manufacturing teams to ensure design intent is clearly understood.
- Support manufacturing liaison activities, helping resolve design issues during part production and updating drawings where required.
Experience and qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Typically 3 to 5+ years of industry experience is preferred.
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools, ideally NX.
- Good working knowledge of GD&T in line with ASME.
- Experience using Teamcenter PLM or a similar platform.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing.
- Experience with fuel-cell-related systems is an advantage.
- Ability to produce high-quality CAD models and mechanical drawings.
Benefits
- Private health and dental cover, including the option to add family members.
- Mental health support through trained Mental Health First Aiders, Employee Assistance Programmes, and wellbeing resources.
- Free lunch and healthy snacks at work.
- Access to sports, games, and culture clubs, including running, cycling, padel, trivia, theatre, and gardening.
- Stock options.
- 25 days of holiday, plus public holidays and extra days for long service.
