Role overview
As a Mixer with FISHBOWL, you’ll represent the brand’s values on shift and help create a welcoming, memorable experience for guests. The role combines warm customer interaction with hands-on food preparation, including guiding customers through the menu and building fresh salads from the ground up.
What you need to bring
This position suits someone with a background in food service, restaurants, or customer-facing work, although this is helpful rather than mandatory. Strong communication, a positive team-oriented attitude, comfort in a busy environment, the ability to learn quickly, and a strong sense of responsibility are all important.
Key duties
You’ll work alongside other Mixers, Restaurant Supervisors, and the Restaurant Manager to deliver a standout customer experience while preparing high-quality bowls.
- Prepare wholesome salads from fresh ingredients
- Provide consistently excellent service to every guest
- Use the POS system to process customer payments and transactions
- Build familiarity with the evolving menu and keep that knowledge up to date
- Support food quality, hygiene, and sanitation standards every day
- Help maintain a positive workplace culture aligned with FISHBOWL’s people standards

About the business
FISHBOWL is a fast-growing Australian food brand focused on fresh, made-to-order salads with an Asian-inspired twist. Established in 2016 in Bondi, the business has expanded to more than 50 locations across Australia’s east coast, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast. In 2024, the brand also launched internationally in New York City under the name THISBOWL. Its mission is to reshape fast food culture by combining quality, care, and a people-first approach.
Hiring process
- A short introductory call with the recruitment team, lasting about 10 to 15 minutes
- An in-store trial with an operations leader, lasting around 1 hour, where you’ll demonstrate attention to detail, service skills, a positive attitude, and good hygiene practices
- If successful, you’ll receive a job offer and begin onboarding
