Opportunity
The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand is seeking two curious, driven Network/Security Engineers to join the NetSecOps team in Wellington. This role sits within an organisation undergoing ongoing transformation and offers the chance to work alongside experienced technology specialists in a collaborative setting.
What you will do
- Support the full operational lifecycle of services delivered by the NetSecOps team, including network security, endpoint security, and identity security.
- Deliver second-line network assistance to staff across sites throughout the country.
- Act as the first point for visual monitoring, triage, and escalation of network incidents and faults.
- Visit sites nationwide to help install network hardware and related equipment.
- Contribute to the technical execution of both internal and external projects.
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in modern cybersecurity practices and wants to build a broad career in the field. You should be comfortable working in a team that depends on mutual support, willing to share technical knowledge, and able to communicate well with people from diverse backgrounds. Empathy and the ability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders are important.
Hands-on exposure to the following technologies will be valuable: Fortinet FortiGate, Fortinet switches and access points, Cisco Nexus, Microsoft Defender Suite, and Entra ID.

Salary
The salary for this position is expected to fall between NZD 88,455 and NZD 113,639, depending on skills and experience.
