Role overview
A specialist school in the Reading area is looking for a qualified teacher to join its primary SEND provision on a permanent full-time basis starting in September 2026. The post is focused on helping children with additional needs thrive through tailored teaching, close support, and a nurturing classroom approach.
The setting works with primary-aged pupils who have a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction challenges, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. With small class sizes and strong support ratios, this role suits a teacher who wants to make a meaningful difference without the demands of a large mainstream class.
The salary is MPS/UPS plus a SEN allowance.
Key duties
- Design and deliver lessons that are engaging, well structured, and adapted to individual learning needs.
- Provide support for pupils with a broad range of special educational needs.
- Work in partnership with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to support pupil progress.
- Maintain a calm, positive, and organised learning environment.
- Contribute to both academic development and wider personal growth.
