About the role
Southern Cross University is looking for a Procurement Services Officer to support procurement activity across the university. This position focuses on handling a large volume of procurement transactions, giving practical advice on purchasing matters, and helping stakeholders work through procurement rules, systems, and procedures.
You will manage an assigned client group, build productive working relationships, and contribute to improvements that lift efficiency, compliance, and overall service quality. The role is suited to a proactive team player who values accuracy, timely delivery, and strong customer service.

Key responsibilities
- Provide prompt and precise procurement guidance to staff across the university.
- Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier information with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Support staff through training and practical help so they can use procurement systems and processes effectively.
- Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and look for ways to improve procurement service delivery and outcomes.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts that strengthen compliance, service quality, and operating efficiency.
What you will bring
- At least 2 years of experience in procurement administration or a closely related area.
- Strong data entry capability and the ability to manage high transaction volumes accurately.
- Sound understanding of how to interpret and apply procurement policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Experience using procurement systems, finance systems, or large ERP platforms.
- A collaborative, self-driven approach and a willingness to contribute positively to the team environment.
- A mindset focused on adding value beyond routine processing.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and problem-solving ability.
Employment details
This is a full-time, continuing role based at either Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. The classification is HEW Level 4.
The base salary is $75,500 to $81,079 per year, plus 17% employer superannuation contribution. The total remuneration package is up to $94,862.
