Project Engineer

Role overview

Atovee Steel Constructions is looking for a highly capable Project Engineer with a strong background in structural steel contracting. The role covers the full project lifecycle, starting from engineering and shop drawing coordination and continuing through fabrication, delivery, and final structural installation at site. The position serves as a key coordination point between the fabrication team, project management, and client consultants so that every structural activity is delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily structural steel erection work at site, including crane activities, site-level adjustments, and assignment of workforce tasks.
• Track project progress against timelines and prepare clear daily and weekly status reports, while resolving site-related delays and logistics issues proactively.
• Examine structural drawings, connection details, and shop drawings, and work closely with the drafting team to clarify technical queries before fabrication starts.
• Coordinate with the fabrication facility to ensure steel members are delivered to site on time and that material flow supports smooth installation with minimal storage issues.
• Attend site meetings with consultants and main contractors, manage technical submissions, and participate in on-site inspections.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during heavy lifting operations and work at height, including bolting and welding activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in project engineering for structural steel fabrication and site erection projects, preferably in the UAE or wider GCC region.
• Strong ability to interpret complex structural engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of Tekla Structures or AutoCAD will be considered an advantage.
• Good practical understanding of heavy steel lifting, high-strength bolting, site welding, and concrete-to-steel foundation handover processes.
• Valid UAE driving license preferred for travel to active construction sites.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills for correspondence and interaction with consultants.
