Proposal Engineering Trainee

About the Role

Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Doha is seeking an enthusiastic engineering graduate to join its Proposal Engineering team. This trainee role is designed for someone who is organized, proactive, and eager to learn how technical and commercial proposals are built for customer projects and solutions.

The Smart Infrastructure business focuses on resilient, sustainable systems that connect the physical and digital worlds. Using data and analytics, the team helps customers improve efficiency and sustainability across buildings and industries.

What You’ll Do

• Review RFQs, RFPs, and ITT documents to understand project scope and submission needs.
• Support the development of basic engineering calculations, layouts, and technical solution concepts under supervision.
• Draft technical documents such as datasheets, compliance matrices, and method statements.
• Help prepare cost estimates, BOQs, and price breakups.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to gather inputs and ensure the proposal aligns with customer expectations.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a strong foundation in engineering concepts and the ability to manage information carefully and accurately.

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; candidates with up to 1 year of experience may also apply. Internship exposure is considered an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and project lifecycles.
• Comfort using MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, costing software, or ERP tools such as SAP will be an added advantage.
• Strong ability to organize tasks and structure information clearly.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for proposal work.
• Capability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
