Role overview
Priory Wareham is hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Public Area Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and overall presentation of the hotel’s shared spaces. This position plays a key part in shaping guests’ first impressions and keeping communal areas consistently well maintained.
Working hours and pattern
This role is offered for 30–40 hours per week. The usual schedule runs from Wednesday to Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday as regular days off. Standard shifts are 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Key duties
You will be responsible for keeping all public areas in excellent condition throughout the day and ensuring they remain welcoming, tidy, and hygienic for guests and visitors.
Additional information
The person in this role is expected to take full ownership of the hotel’s public areas and maintain them to a very high standard. Cover arrangements will be made for Mondays and Tuesdays.
About you
The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, well organised, and comfortable working independently. You should take pride in exceptional cleanliness standards, be proactive in spotting issues, and maintain a friendly, professional manner while working around guests. The role also requires physical ability to complete cleaning tasks across a full shift. Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is helpful, but training can be provided for the right applicant.
