Role Overview

The Robotics Data Collector will support the capture of reliable robotics and egocentric data for AI model training. The work is hands-on and involves robotics systems, sensors, and live environments to gather multimodal datasets such as video, motion, and interaction records. The role is well suited to someone who is careful, technically interested, and comfortable in lab-based and controlled field settings.

Key Duties

• Carry out robotics and first-person data collection using handheld, head-mounted, or robot-mounted cameras, as well as sensors such as IMUs and depth cameras.
• Follow defined scenarios and procedures to complete data-gathering tasks consistently and accurately.
• Support the operation of humanoid or mobile robotic systems during collection sessions.
• Help set up and calibrate cameras, sensors, and recording equipment, and confirm that hardware is working correctly during experiments.
• Inspect captured datasets for completeness, clarity, and accuracy, and identify issues such as missing records, recording faults, or sensor misalignment.
• Prepare collection environments and run activities such as object manipulation, navigation tasks, and human-robot interaction recordings.
• Keep organized records of sessions, equipment use, and any problems encountered, while sharing suggestions to improve workflows and protocols.
• Work in line with lab safety rules, equipment handling standards, and privacy and security requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

This position is open to candidates with 0 to 3+ years of experience in data collection, field operations, lab environments, or technical/hardware-related roles. Applicants should be comfortable using cameras, sensors, recording devices, and basic computer tools, and must be able to follow instructions carefully with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Background

Experience with robotics systems or hardware-focused environments will be an advantage. Familiarity with egocentric data capture, computer vision datasets, or AI-related datasets is helpful, along with a basic understanding of robotics concepts, sensors, and recording tools. Prior exposure to technical labs or research environments is also valued.

Onboarding Requirement

This is a remote role, but selected candidates must attend a 3-day onboarding program at the Abu Dhabi office.
