Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position is based in the United Arab Emirates and focuses on strengthening health, safety, and environmental controls across transport operations, depots, and related facilities. The Safety Officer will help ensure that daily operations follow company procedures and UAE regulatory requirements while supporting a culture of safe work practices.
Key Duties
The role includes carrying out inspections, audits, and risk reviews to spot hazards and advise on corrective measures. It also covers building and refreshing safety policies, procedures, and training content, as well as delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings to drivers and employees. The Safety Officer will keep accident and incident records up to date, manage investigations, and work closely with management to maintain compliance with UAE rules and internal safety standards. Coordination with operations, maintenance, and HR teams is also part of the job to encourage continuous improvement in safety performance.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have solid knowledge of HSE practices, road transport safety requirements, and risk control methods relevant to the UAE or wider GCC region. Experience in inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive action planning is important. The role also calls for the ability to design and present safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for varied teams. Strong reporting, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are needed, along with the ability to influence behavior and support a safety-first mindset. Good organization and time management are essential for handling multiple sites and priorities. Familiarity with MS Office and digital reporting tools is expected. HSE credentials such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar are preferred, along with a diploma or degree in occupational safety, engineering, or a related discipline. Prior experience in a Safety Officer or similar role in transport, logistics, or industrial settings is an advantage.
