Shovel Operator

Role Overview

Al Sahraa Group is hiring a Shovel Operator in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The position offers a salary of 3300 AED and follows a 90/30 rotation schedule.

Core Duties

• Handle hydraulic and mechanical shovels to dig, move, and load materials onto trucks or into designated stockpiles.
• Carry out checks before each shift and complete routine upkeep so the equipment stays in working condition.
• Work in line with safety procedures and company rules to maintain a secure job site.
• Coordinate with supervisors and fellow crew members to keep work activities running smoothly.
• Maintain clear logs for excavated and loaded materials, along with any maintenance or repair activities completed on the machine.
• Escalate equipment issues or unsafe site conditions to the supervisor without delay.
• Operate in compliance with environmental standards and site-specific guidelines.
• Keep the work area tidy and well organized.
• Take on additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of shovel operating experience in oil and gas or construction environments.
• Must hold a valid driving licence with a clean driving history.
• Good understanding of heavy equipment servicing and basic repair practices.
• Ability to review equipment manuals and follow work instructions.
• Strong communication abilities and a team-oriented approach.
• Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
