Role overview

An international investment firm is expanding its Insurance Solutions function in Riyadh and is looking to appoint a qualified or near-qualified actuary. This is a commercially focused position that moves beyond conventional insurance work and places actuarial capability at the core of investment strategy, capital optimisation, portfolio construction, and solutions for institutional investors across emerging markets.

The role sits within a global platform known for investing in emerging markets private credit, trade finance, and special situations. It blends actuarial analysis with front-office collaboration, investor engagement, and strategic capital advisory for insurance-sector clients and counterparties.

What you will do

• Lead modelling work related to risk-based capital and regulatory capital for insurance-linked investment strategies.
• Support asset-liability management analysis, including duration alignment, liquidity planning, and balance-sheet efficiency.
• Work with investment, structuring, and risk teams to evaluate capital efficiency and portfolio fit for insurer and reinsurer investors.
• Take part in investor discussions and marketing conversations, providing technical input on capital and regulatory matters.
• Help design innovative insurance-oriented structures across private credit and wider alternative investment approaches.
• Contribute to stress testing, scenario analysis, and portfolio monitoring to support investment decisions from a capital and solvency perspective.

Candidate profile

The employer is seeking a qualified or nearly qualified actuary, ideally with experience in insurance, reinsurance, actuarial consulting, or insurance-focused asset management. Candidates should bring strong technical depth in economic capital, risk-based capital, or regulatory capital frameworks, along with a practical understanding of ALM and balance-sheet dynamics.

Strong numerical and analytical ability is essential, with working knowledge of Excel and ideally Python, R, or VBA. The role also calls for excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas clearly to both investor audiences and non-actuarial stakeholders.
