Key Responsibilities

  • Lead state-level identification and survey work to locate children engaged in child labour.
  • Support the activation of District Task Forces (DTF) and ensure meetings are conducted on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate rescue operations with the relevant departments in all implementing states.
  • Ensure FIRs are registered under the applicable legal sections and that traffickers are arrested and premises are sealed where required.
  • Oversee post-rescue procedures, including presentation of children before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and recording statements under Section 164.
  • Drive rescue targets and maintain continuous momentum for rescue activities in the states assigned.
  • Track each rescued child’s follow-up process to support proper integration and rehabilitation in society.
  • Monitor the benefits and schemes received by rescued children so that all eligible support is secured.
  • Maintain complete and updated records of rescued children for follow-up through phone calls, home visits, and other outreach methods.
  • Ensure the team sends timely letters to the relevant departments so benefits and rehabilitation support reach children at the earliest.
  • Facilitate filing of RTIs where needed to support rehabilitation and related actions for rescued children.
  • Build and maintain coordination with government and district administration, police, CWCs, DCPUs, and civil society organizations for protection, rescue, follow-up, and rehabilitation.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for every child, including case stories, meeting minutes, process notes, rehabilitation cards/documents, follow-up reports, and other relevant records.
  • Take on any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
