The opportunity
Blackwoods is hiring a dependable, upbeat Storeperson to become part of its close-knit Trade Store team in Albury, New South Wales. This is a hands-on, all-rounder position that blends back-of-house warehouse work with customer interaction, making it well suited to someone who enjoys variety in their day.
The site is small, with a team of 7, and the company is seeking someone who is interested in a stable, long-term role. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to balance work around other life commitments will be highly valued.
This is a permanent full-time role working Monday to Friday on a fixed roster from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia.
What you'll do
- Handle incoming goods, pick and pack orders, and prepare deliveries with speed and accuracy.
- Treat customer orders carefully and ensure they are processed appropriately.
- Support stock control activities, including inventory checks and stocktakes.
- Use forklifts to assist with receiving and dispatch tasks.
- Step in to provide customer service when needed.
- Maintain administration records and keep them accurate and up to date.
What the role calls for
The ideal candidate brings prior exposure to warehousing or retail environments; experience in stores such as Bunnings, Coles, Kmart, or similar is considered an advantage. Strong communication skills, a dependable work style, and a proactive “can do” approach are essential.
You should be comfortable working as part of a team, think from a customer service perspective, and show punctuality and alignment with Blackwoods’ values. Good problem-solving ability and effective time management are also important.
A forklift licence is preferred, although training can be provided to the right person.
