Supervisor, Recreation

Role overview

This position oversees recreation, golf, fitness, and entertainment activities at the Doha property. The role focuses on creating an enjoyable guest atmosphere, keeping recreation operations safe and organized, and supporting the team with supervision, training, and guest service.

Key duties

• Prepare activity notices and promotional materials using publishing software.
• Track recreation supplies, materials, and equipment, and report low-stock items to the supervisor or manager.
• Encourage guests to take part in activities, handle registration, and build activity schedules.
• Help create a fun, relaxing environment for guests.
• Share information with guests about recreation facilities and available activities.
• Promote facility rules and regulations to protect guest and member safety and wellbeing.
• Monitor recreation areas and respond appropriately to emergencies following local operating procedures.
• Recognize situations where a guest may not be able to safely join an activity and escalate to a supervisor or manager.
• Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Clean and maintain recreation equipment and supplies.
• Support management with employee training, motivation, development, and mentoring within the department.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries.
• Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect confidential company information and safeguard company assets.
• Support teammates respectfully and help the team achieve shared goals and quality standards.
• Perform reasonable additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Working conditions and physical requirements

The job requires standing, sitting, or walking for long periods or for the entire shift. The role also includes moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and positioning items under 25 lbs without assistance, and helping with items above 50 lbs. Other physical tasks include reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, working in narrow or elevated spaces, and moving over slopes, uneven or slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps. The role also involves reading detailed information, visually checking tools and equipment for defects, and entering or locating information through computers or point-of-sale systems. Clear and professional spoken communication and proper telephone etiquette are also required.

Qualifications

Preferred background includes a secondary school diploma or GED, 1 year of related work experience, and 1 year of supervisory experience. Required certifications and training include CPR, first aid, recreation and fitness equipment-related certification, and any other certifications or training required by local and state agencies.
