Role Overview

Larsen & Toubro is hiring a Surveyor for its Hyderabad, Telangana project location. The role focuses on surveying work for a 765 KV transmission line and requires hands-on experience with detail and check surveys, contouring, prop setting, and extracting data from DGPS and Total Station equipment. Candidates should have worked on major survey assignments for transmission lines of similar or higher scale and should be comfortable using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and PLS.

Core Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed land surveys using appropriate instruments and techniques to map the exact position, elevation, and alignment of transmission line components such as towers, conductors, insulators, and related equipment.
• Gather dependable field data on existing infrastructure, terrain, boundary limits, and other project-specific inputs using GPS units, total stations, laser scanners, and similar survey tools.
• Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project needs, flag field challenges, and keep survey work aligned with planned timelines and objectives.
• Support right-of-way identification by helping assess land ownership, easements, and permission requirements while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for construction work.
• Prepare maps, drawings, reports, digital terrain models, topographic layouts, and as-built documents based on survey findings, and keep survey records organized and easy to access.
• Check survey calculations, readings, and outputs for accuracy and completeness, and ensure that all measurements meet required standards and specifications.
• Follow safety procedures, regulatory norms, and industry practices throughout all surveying activities to maintain compliance and reduce risk on site.

Required Experience and Tools

This position calls for relevant field experience in surveying for 765 KV transmission lines or comparable/high-capacity transmission projects. Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word is expected, along with the ability to operate AutoCAD and PLS for survey-related work.
