Role overview
Deutsche Bahn is looking for a Weichenwärter:in (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG at one of the following locations: Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz. The role is to be filled as soon as possible and offers a secure long-term position in a team-oriented environment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out shunting movements safely and on time on the mechanical signal box at the Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, or Zeitz marshalling yard.
- Set up the complete route for train movements, including points, track route, and signals, to ensure safe departures.
- Coordinate closely with colleagues at adjacent signal boxes, train drivers, and control centres.
- Issue, receive, and pass on operational messages as well as timetable-related notifications.
- Monitor the railway infrastructure and arrange line closures whenever disruptions occur.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Weichenwärter:in and strong knowledge of mechanical signal-box systems, or a clear willingness to build up this expertise.
- High sense of responsibility, reliability, and the ability to act professionally and accurately under pressure.
- Fitness for operational service as a Weichenwärter:in is required.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
