Wire Associate

Role overview

The Wire Associate supports the day-to-day operations of the wire department, with a strong focus on handling incoming and outgoing wire transfers in a fast-moving, deadline-driven setting. This role relies on an automated wire transfer platform to make sure transactions are completed accurately, on time, and in line with compliance expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Handle and confirm domestic and international inbound and outbound wire activity using the bank’s systems, following internal procedures and transfer cutoffs.
• Process service messages and drawdowns as part of routine wire operations.
• Respond to questions, troubleshoot wire-related concerns, and support branches and other teams with wire processing needs.
• Perform verification callbacks for online, recurring, and remote wire requests.
• Follow approved controls and procedures during customer verification calls and any task that may involve operational risk.
• Work strictly within the policies and procedures that govern wire transfers.
• Review OFAC information to identify potential matches and any other unusual activity.
• Escalate OFAC exceptions, failed matches, and unusual activity to the supervisor and compliance team for review.
• Complete all required and elective training, including BSA and anti-money laundering topics, and stay aligned with relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintain dependable attendance, with the flexibility to work late or respond during emergency situations when needed.
• Carry out other assigned duties as required.

Education and experience

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in banking or financial services. Experience with FISERV Premier, prior wire processing exposure, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment are preferred.
